Himalia's changes

Himalia
February 2003: This is Himalia shortly afer her arrival in my home. The first free flight test showed that she was nearly unable to navigate in the air. Within a few minutes, she got very exhausted from flying and had to go back into her cage.

Himalia
February 2003: Above Himalia's cere all feathers are missing. The skin is dry because of eczema. It seemes to be very itchy because Himalia is scatching her head all day long.

Curious Himalia
February 2003: This photo shows her eczema.

Himalia in the bird room
End of March 2003: A few minutes after she has moved into the bird room, Himalia is having a closer look to where she has landed. The disturbance of equilibrium has nearly vanished; the eczema unfortunately not.

Acrobatics
Beginning of April 2003: Himalia lost even more feathers around the eczema, but the skin isn't dry and itchy anymore.

No eczema!
End of April 2003: No eczema but lots of new feathers!

Fully re-grown plumage
May 2003: Spring brought a lot of positive changes into Himalia's life. She gets along fine with the other birds and her plumage is fully re-grown.

Young lady
June 2003: Himalia has turned from a chick into a lady, her cere finally becomes brown now. The photo shows her after she has been eating a carrot what is "written in her face".

Himalia and Ares
End of June 2003: The greates luck on Earth is sky blue, a bit podgy and has a blue cere - at least for Himalia. Thanks to the tender love of her friend Ares she's on cloud nine.
