| A few companies offer eggfood for budgies, sometimes it is also called softfood. This eggfood represents a high-quality auxiliary food for birds. In particular during the breeding season, eggfood is essential as it is a source of protein. Budgies who are weakened by diseases regain strength with the help of eggfood. Due to its consistency and taste, some birds will never touch eggfood, others need a while until they get used to it. If your birds don't like it at first, just be patient and keep on serving it to them. Your birds will be even less thrilled if you moisten eggfood before serving. Some budgies prefer it dry, at least in the beginning. To slowly accustom them to eggfood, try and sprinkle some over sprouted seeds. You can also try egg crackers first.
