Anniversary names: 13500th name

What does the Caribbean have to do with the statistics on budgie names of Birds Online? Well, quite a lot because on 11/19/2012 a bird owner from Germany entered the 13500th budgie name into the stats. This anniversary bird is calles Karibik which is the German word for the Caribbean. Here's a short story about this lovely budgie lady:

Karibik"Karibik couldn't stay at her former home but we were happy to adopt her and make her a member of our little flock. Not only because I was thinking of the name for quite a while but also because of her color variety I have chosen her name that reminds of summer, sun and beach. Karibik stirs up the flock with her color and also with her personality. And if you hear her chatter and chirp the whole time and see how she enjoys wet lettuce it is fairly amusing. Wet lettuce is her favorite bath.

Karibik clings to the leaves, fluffs her plumage and then rubs her body and her wings against the wet lettuce. Maybe one could call her a little mermaid (or vain?) because each time she sees water it is no longer safe and she takes a bath .

She also spends a lot of time and love on oats. Karibik turns and shifts the grains in her beak for a long time and she continues doing so until the hull has completely turned to dust. Karibik is a featheres gourmet."
