Anniversary birds: 14000th budgie

On 3/18/2006 I have received the name of the 14000th who is called Pipsi and who lives in Vienna, Austria, at the home of Marie-Kristin Nozicka. She was happy to hear about the good news that Pipsi is an anniversary bird and she introduced him to us:

"Pipsi is three years old and a male budgie. He lives here at my place since he was six weeks old and he shares his home with his budgie wife called Tussi. She came here a bit later. Pipsi is very tame and he can talk ("Bussi-Bussi" what means "kiss-kiss"). Regrettably he didn't learn any further words, he just learned to coo like doves do. Actually I wanted to give him a more special name because Pipsi is very common. But in fact I became used to this name, I guess it was because he is always chirping and Pipsi is derived from "piepsen" what means to chirp. He is a real "family bird", he always wants to be with us and he even likes to eat with us. Therefore one has to be very carefull since he loves to jump onto plates filled with meals. He also loves to nibble my teeth when I don't pay attention and leave my mouth open."
