Anniversary birds: 22000th budgie

When Renate Hoffmann from Germany sent me the names of her budgies on 06/10/2007, she had no idea that one of her feathered friends would become an anniversary bird. This honour goes to her female budgie Paula who had moved into her home just about one month ago:

"The daughter of a friend of my mother brought Paula and her friend Ernie to my home. Her mother had just moved into a new house where she didn't find enough space to place the budies' cage and she didn't let them fly around the rooms. And also she had become rid of them and therefore she wanted to give them away. They are both quite chubby and they don't like to fly. Almost all day long they spend their time together, chirp sweet nothings into one another's ears and perch on their favourite swing. Also Paula loves to nibble the bark off the branches or destroy the cork oak bark. Both birds have settled in very well and they have become real members of my flock of 18 budgies even though they like to spent most of their time together. Paula has been bought in May 2000 in a pet shop, and Ernie one year earlier."
