Anniversary birds: 35500th budgie
On 09/10/2010, Tina from Australia entered her bird's names into my stats. And one of her budgies became an anniversary bird: Roxy is the 35500th budgie whose name has become a part of my project. When I told Tina about Roxy's special status, she was very pleased and sent me some picutes and a short text about her little feathered friend: "It means so much to us that Roxy is an Anniversary Budgie - 35500th! She
sadly passed away on 29th September, this year, 2010, two days after having
an operation because she was eggbound. She was 5 years of age. She was very
much loved and a much loved member of our family and she is missed very
much. Roxy was our very first budgie, a birthday present for our youngest
daughter. She was a very dominant girl, but so beautiful in every way. Roxy
loved to be out of her cage and spending time with the rest of the family.
She had such a playful nature, chewing anything & everything, climbing,
performing tricks & flips on her ladder, jumping around like a kangroo on
the floor to make us all laugh and she loved to play games with her little
silver ball on the dining room table.
She was such a happy little girl. We
miss her morning greetings and her demands for toast for breakfast every
morning, her kisses & cuddles and our little conversations we had with her.
Her favourite sayings were "Hello beautiful girl/boy kiss kiss kiss kiss
kiss", "Hello cheeky girl/boy kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss" & "Hello Billy boy,
Billy boy, Billy boy, boy, boy, Billy boy kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss".
A year after having Roxy, we brought another Budgie, Billabong, into our
family. Roxy showed him she was boss but it wasn't long before they became
best buddies and were inseparable.
Roxy made us so happy & brought so much joy & laughter into our lives. Roxy
will be forever in our hearts xoxo
