Anniversary names: 8500th name

On 05/23/2007 Barbara Antesberger from Austria entered her budgie's names into my stats. One of her birds is called Felicia and this one is an anniversary bird. When Barbara heard of this, she was very proud and of course she wanted to write a few words about her feathered friend:

'I got "Felix" and Cäcilia on 06/21/2004 from the animal shelter in Salzburg. Their former owner had given them away when they were just six months old. He had become ill and his wife didn't like birds at all. Dr. Haberpeuntner from the animal shelter in Salzburg is a vet and she cares for my little flock. From time to time she asks me to adopt birds from the animal shelter who are too unhappy there because they are caged, old, challenged or just not tame).

By chance I heard on the radio that on the 21st of June Felix and Cäcilia have their saint's day. Shortly after this I renamed Felix to the Italian Felicia. Both birds have settled in well and they are very freedom-loving. While my other birds sleep inside their cage (which is always open), they stay outside and sleep on their favourite perch. So far they have both not shown any interest in finding a partner among the other birds. Both are shy and they avoid the two cockatiels and also the six zebra finches (who by the way don't avoid the budgies at all). Because they love to fly they animate my "old band" to do the same and they provoke little disputes when it comes to eating lettuce and dandelion. And also they bite several holes into the wall...

It's easy to tell who is who because Cäcilia wears a lot of throat spots and Felicia just a few."
