The lady's thumb (Polygonum persicaria) is
another plant that can be used as a tasteful addition to a budgie's
diet. As you can see in the figure below, the long narrow leafs show
some irregularly shaped black dots. Up to 100 cm is the height this
plant can reach. Lady's thumb
flowers from July to September, the colour of the inflorescence varies
from white to pink. Ripe seeds can be found from August to October.
All kinds of pet birds love the tiny seeds that taste a little bit
like nuts.
