Corn on the cob, not ripe yetMany pet birds, among them all kinds of parrots and of course budgies, love to nibble fresh corn (Zea mays). They prefer it when it is half-ripe, milky and still very soft. In Central Europe, one can get half-ripe corn between July and October. Large parrots such as grey parrots or amazons also love to eat ripe corn that can be found in some common bird seed mixtures.
