Flower of the Pot marigoldOne of the most famous plants from our nature budgies and other birds really love to nibble is the Pot marigold (Calendula officinalis). The plants are from 30 to 50 centimeters tall, they flower from June to September. Shiny yellow to orange is the colour of the florescence. From July to October one can find seeds in any degree of ripeness. Pot marigolds are cultivated in gardens and they also can be found in nature where they grow by waysides and sometimes on fallow land. One can offer the whole plant - leafs, stems and florescence - to the birds.
