In their Australian home, wild budgies nourish on different sorts
of seeds. Most of the common bird food mixtures contain lots of
grains and only little quantities of delicate grass seeds. If you
want to make your budgie's daily diet more natural, you should
feed him on Orchard grass seeds. Served in a
separate dish, those low fat wild seeds are a healthy goody for
budgies. One kg costs about 4 Euro in Germany, and the birds
can nibble for a very, very long time on that amount of food!
You should better buy smaller quantities from time to time for
guarantying the freshness of the Orchard grass you give to your
budgies.
