There are some interesting details in my statistical analysis of budgie names. I received the names of 45360 budgies until today. 84 of these birds had a different name while they were living at the home of their former owner. After they had moved into a new home they were re-named. Therefore their two names were counted, but with the second name entry they didn't increase the number of budgies. You can find 14543 different names in the stats at the moment. Only about five percent of all counted budgie names appear in the Top 5 that contains 2050 entries.

Most entries come from Germany, my home country. In fall 2001, I translated the statistics on budgie names into English and since then I received a lot of entries from all over the world. Untill today, name entries from 101 different countries have been entered. Here you can find the exact numbers of entries for each country:
